Oh, my Father, I am heartily sorry for having offended thee, over and over again. I wholly detest all of my sins because of thy just punishments—the loss of heaven and the eternal torture of hell. But most of all, I detest those sins because they offend thee, my Father, who art eternally good and deserving of my unmitigated love, honor, and obedience. I firmly resolve today, relying only on your all-powerful grace, the tender help of my Heavenly Mother, and my weak will, to sin no more, to do sincere penance, to avoid any near occasion of sin, and to keep my capacity to sin and to destroy my place in heaven always always always in my mind. May the Four Last Things taught by your Catholic Church—death, judgment, heaven, and hell—inform every decision I make and help me to love as your Son did on the Cross. Amen.
